Jesse Soleil, is Vice President, Emerging Media and Technology for
Scholastic overseeing eScholastic, the online division of Scholastic,
the global children’s publishing, education and media company at
www.scholastic.com. Mr. Soleil, a veteran product development and
software executive joined Scholastic in 2003 and led Scholastic's Lab
for Informal Learning/Digital Innovation group where he and his team
provided research and development for new and innovative
technology-based products, including The 39 Clues, a groundbreaking
multi-media book series for kids ages 8-12 that consists of 10-books,
online gaming, trading cards and prizes. In his new role, Mr. Soleil is
responsible for overseeing Scholastic.com and its Content, Solutions,
Development and Business Intelligence teams.
Scholastic.com draws about 530 million page views annually and about 7
million unique visits per month from teachers, kids and families.
Scholastic.com has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Webby
Award, People’s Choice Award for Best Kids Site, and was recently
recognized as the #1 site for “power moms” by Nielson Online.
Scholastic.com has the distinction of being the number-one preferred
site for classroom teachers, revolutionizing the way teachers integrate
technology into the classroom, supporting the way today’s students
learn, and enhancing parents’ ability to supplement their children’s

Mr. Soleil’s leadership experience in software and product development
spans more than 20 years. He has led teams and projects in global firms
including Nortel Networks, Computer Sciences Corporation and more, and
has been a principal in several start-ups including Massiverse and
Protomedia Design.
Mr. Soleil lives in Brooklyn with his wife and three children.
