A social media entrepreneur and pioneer in social gaming, Mike Sego is the creator and sole developer of the wildly popular (fluff)Friends application for Facebook. The application, which enables users to adopt and interact with virtual pets, was among the first Facebook applications to monetize using a virtual currency. The application attracted millions of users before being acquired by Social Gaming Network in August 2008.

Previously, Sego served as Gaia’s CPO. Prior to joining Gaia Online, he was a technical lead at Google on Gmail's Frontend engineering team, where he was recognized for outstanding work with the prestigious Founder's Award in 2007. Prior to his role at Google, Sego served at Electronic Arts as a software engineer working on The Sims Online.
